Urbana mladež (Urban Youth) is a nonprofit organization whose main objective is active participation of young people and development of their potential through non formal education, mentoring and support. We are organizing and implementing programs, projects and activities in the field of dance and urban culture, free traveling and mobility, music production, video and photo production, entrepreneurship, marketing and social media.

We are situated in Zagreb in neighbourhood called Dubrava, which is urban problem zone and it is known for its negative reputation of young people coming from broken families, young people with a low standard of living, low income, dependence on social welfare system, young people in long-term unemployment or poverty, youth with educational difficulties such as lower qualified persons and young people with poor school performance, youth with cultural differences such as young people belonging to a national or ethnic minority.
Our NGO staff lives its whole life in Dubrava and we know this young people personally and work with them on all our projects, activities and events.

Urbana mladež is active on;
- Local level in designing and organizing projects and events in our neighborhood and city. We cooperate with cultural centers, theaters, other NGO’s and organizations, companies and shopping malls.
- National level in designing and organizing projects and events on national level under various public tenders and in cooperation with other cities.
- European level with active participation in Erasmus plus programme.

In Zagreb, Urbana mladež has its multimedia studio which consistent of;
- Dance studio “PMP” (www.facebook.com/pmpstudiozg/) in Dubrava Culture Center where we teach breakdance and hip-hop dance lessons and variety of recreation activities to kids and youth. As hip-hop and breakdance is a culture that comes ˝from the street˝ our main target group is kids and youth from Dubrava with fewer opportunities as we described.
- Dance studio Bachata Inspire (www.facebook.com/bachatainspire) where we teach young people social dances like bachata, salsa and kizomba. We also organize dance events and social dance parties.
- Music studio Tunna Beatz (www.tunnabeatz.com) where we work with demo musicians in many genres of music like hip-hop, pop, rock and folk. Music production like instrumentals, beats, vocal production, mixing and mastering. We also educate youngster in all this fields with tools and methods of non-formal education. Our target group in studio is also youth with fewer opportunities. We help them to find their passion and ˝reason to grow˝ in any gender or section of music. We support them with design, implementation and promotion of their work, projects and career.
- Video section where we work on video recording and video editing for our projects, dance studio, our musicians and members, other artists, organizations and institutions.
- Photo section where we work on photo sessions and picture editing for our projects, dance studio, our musicians and members, other artists, organizations and institutions.

So far we have implemented 7 youth exchanges, 1 training course and 3 EVS projects in Croatia and been partners on 22 projects (YE, TC, EVS and Strategic Partnerships) from which on 12 of them we took active role as organizers of activities. We have also implemented many projects from city, national and regional programs. Our staff has rich experience with Erasmus plus project management and experience as project trainers.

Topic of our 3 EVS projects was promotion of mobility and ways to travel for free for young Croats who can not afford to pay to travel and therefore miss out this opportunities. In different ways we reach and inform young people how they can travel for free and support them taking this adventures, because we have done the same and we believe that travel is the best form of education.

Urbana mladež association is guided by the principle of youth for youth – our leaders and members are young people with strong desire to change community for better, learn together and grow young people's competences. We are active in education, training and implementation of projects who intend to increase and develop youngster’s knowledge, skills and attitudes. Urbana mladež gather trainers, experts youth and volunteers with all level competences to actively contribute to fulfillment of potential of young people with European dimension and prosperity for local communities.
