description of organisation

Environment Engineering Group (EEG) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. It is established in 2005 with the aim to educate youth about sustainable development using nonformal learning methods, with a special focus on international cooperation in the field of youth. In 15 years of work, EEG has implemented projects on the local, national, regional, and international levels. EEG was active in Youth, Youth in Action and now in Erasmus + Programme. EEG had EVS accreditation in period 2007-2011 and in this period EEG hosted and sent 15 volunteers. Now, it is accredited for ESC as a sending organization. Until now, EEG coordinated over 20 EU youth projects and participated as a partner in more than 40 EU youth projects.

Lots of young people volunteer in EEG, which makes its work environment highly dynamic. Thanks to its good quality of work, EEG is recognized as an important organization for youth development in Novi Sad and Serbia. As such, EEG participated in the process of bringing the title of "European youth capital for 2019" for the city of Novi Sad. This title was a result of several processes leads by EEG. EEG was the coordinating organization in the process of writing and adopting the "Local youth strategy for the city of Novi Sad for period 2015 - 2018" and the "Action plan for youth for the province of Vojvodina for period 2015 - 2020". Both processes were successfully finished and adopted by assemblies on the local and province level. These documents are today main guidelines in the implementation of youth policies in Novi Sad and Vojvodina. EEG is also one of the 6 founders of the Association "Novi Sad European Youth Capital-OPENS", an organization that has the most important role in realizing activities within the title.

Also, EEG is coordinating organizations for the national network of environmental grass-roots organizations "Green list of Serbia'. Our main focus is sustainable development with a specific emphasis on the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals. The green list of Serbia is established in 2007 and after 8 years of its successful project implementation, it was officially registered as a national network of local environmental NGOs in 2015. The EEG’s task in the network is to coordinate its work, as well as to connect local members with the international organizations, in order to help them to build their partnerships.

In 2014 EEG has established the Youth center for rural development and applied to learn in Serbia. Its aim is to provide the youth with practical education programs that will help them to bring sustainability in their personal, as well as in their professional lifestyle. This Youth center is a product of long-lasting international cooperation with organizations and youth workers from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, and Serbia.

Activities implemented by EEG predominantly involve marginalized youth, especially those with educational, economical or geographical difficulties. As the organization works at the same time on the local and international levels, the solutions for the challenges of the society given by EEG are the product of intercultural learning. During the last 5 years, EEG accentuates its work on the advocacy, raising awareness about the climate change consequences, waste management and water protection on the local, regional and international levels.

EEG motto is "Think globally, act locally" and main values are freedom, tolerance, and respect of human rights with special focus on right for a clean and healthy environment. EEG has developed the capacity to implement projects from the local level to the international level.

The majority of its projects are in the field of youth non-formal education, but also there are projects that put the focus on decision-making education, lobbying and advocating for better position of youth in the society and implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
