The Megálló Group offers activity, work, human relations, friendship for the hanging about, deviant, moping, lonely, alcohol, drug or other substance-addicted young people who need this type of care, and for those, who are to get in touch with them, who are to share their company. Our programs are implemented for them and by them. We work with the victims of stigmatization; with such young people who are designated as strange or deviant because of their diversity or disease, who dropped out from their families, communities and the environment that surrounded them, or those disadvantaged young people who are about to lose the game called life. Our target group are coming from them, mostly young people with any kind of addiction problem. The Megálló is basically an organization of help and self-help. The decisions and deeds of its helpers must show the attitude of serving and humility, the sober values based on self examination, a personal guide.
In the Megálló all individuals are important, but the most important is the group.
We accept people not according to their problems, but we sort the problems according to people. We don't discard anyone who asks our help if it didn't hurt the interests or the existence of the group.
At the Megálló we consider the human being as the most important value.
The Megálló can be characterized by the principle of individual-centered thinking: for everyone - with his/her participation - we elaborate such a program of therapy that fits to his/her personality, individual, life situation, actual possibilities, abilities and skills.
This is our philosophy which is open in front of volunteers if they can imagine to work in an atmosphere like this. We are sure that every volunteer can find her/his on field in our programmes according to her/his skills.
Programmes of Megálló Group Foundation:
Education Programme:
We offer education program for such young people with addiction problems who want to break with their former ways of living and want to live in abstinence. According to our intention learning would be a part of their recovery process, or it helps them to maintain abstinence. Learning can help to form and strengthen the real self-image self-valuation and self-confidence.
Self-helped groups: The most typical activity of Megálló Group is the operation of the self-helped groups, the using of self-help system as "movement".

Sport- and other outdoor activities:
-Football /we successfully compete on regional-, national- and international tournaments/

Rock-climbing needs big trust, attention, cooperation and responsibility between the participants. Addictive people, who already don't feel the false courage what drugs gave them, can feel the real courage and bravery on the rocks, when they fight with their own fears, mistrust.
Drug-prevention programme:
We apply a specific approach: we involve the young people touched by the drug and alcohol problems. Unfortunately, the recovered drug users are fewer than those who can not get rid of this abuse, so we think it extremely important to speak about their history for young people, who can avoid those obstacles and traps of life, which can lead to drugs or alcohol use. By this activity we can reach a really wide public: endangered youth, would be volunteers, teachers and experts, since we are invited to schools, youth and cultural events, conferences, etc. By these discussions led by voluntary helpers and therapists of the Megálló we can fulfill our mission for changing the public opinion towards drugs and drug users. The team of Megálló consists of 20 professional helpers - social workers, social educators and teachers. All of them are employed by Megálló or has a special contract with the institution, and all of them have several years' experience in cooperating with Megálló. The helpers who had a drug addiction career and participated in rehabilitation programs themselves play an important role in the program, and due to their first-hand personal experiences and congruence they can be the base of the reliability and effectiveness of the program. Megálló regularly works together with volunteers and students (mostly social workers and psychologists) and with anyone who is interested in its working method and wants to help our work.
