The Association of People with Disabilities Verdiblanca was established in Almería, in 1979 and since then, during these more than 40 years, has worked for the standardization of people with disabilities. Since its inception, Verdiblanca, aware of the passive spirit that existed in the collective of people with disabilities and their families, as well as the lack of encouragement and interest in training, education and rehabilitation, has worked organizing and developing numerous programs and projects that aim to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, as well as society's awareness of the need to socially integrate them. Global integration that brings together an educational, labor, family, health integration, etc.
Since then and to the present day, Verdiblanca has worked with a basic and primary objective of which all others depart, such as the normalization of the lives of people with disabilities autonomously, and the contribution to improving their quality of life. We also highlight other objectives such as: Social and labour integration of people with disabilities; social awareness of the collective's current problems and aspirations; participation in the prevention and rehabilitation plans for the different disabilities established by the competent agencies; the removal of urban, architectural and communication barriers, as well as support and promotion of alternatives in this area; Information on the different deficiencies, as well as prevention and rehabilitation to combat them; Avoiding the isolation of people with disability within its social environment and encouraging voluntary participation in activities.
The main activities, aimed at the partners and partners of the entity, that are carried out are: Social Care where specialized technical advice is carried out on resources and aids to promote orientation and alleviate social inequalities; Sociocultural Animation. Social and cultural actions are carried out to stimulate participation in personal development around leisure and awareness;; Physiotherapy for the improvement of chronic pathologies or health ailments and for the prevention of deficiencies with physical activity; Legal advice, with a specialized Technical Cabinet to prevent abuse and comply with the rules of legislative progress; Work Orientation. We have a job market that can be accessed by people with disabilities, who become candidates or candidates for employment demands for both our company and ordinary people who request our collaboration; Education and training. Basic and qualified preparation will be received. Adult
education and vocational training programs are a sample; Adapted transport. A fleet of vans adapted from Verdiblanca carries out door-to-door transport; Home help. A qualified assistant attends (at home) in the basic activities of daily life to people in a situation of dependence.
