Description of organisation

Civica di Trento is a public body dealing within an integrated system at a regional and national level aiming at protecting the health and promoting life quality for the people assisted. Within this framework it carries out activities to improve daily life, especially as to elderly. A special attention is given to the overall socio-relational dimension, with services dedicated to guests and their families. The service aims at supporting socializing activities in the daily routine of the old person living in the facility. The guiding principles of the work developed by Civica are self realization for the old person, a global approach to the individual, the improvement of life quality, decision making and free expression for the old person, in an integrated approach with all staff members for the well-being of the guest.Civica has an integrated approach in carrying out its job, mainly through thefollowing strategies:> Home for non-independent elderlies (r.s.a): for people with health problems (physic,psychological, and social) who are temporary or permanently not self sufficient;> Home for elderlies : home for old people who are still independent, yet who areexperiencing not serious problems;> Protected houses : accommodation for those who are in social and psychologicalneed, even though are considered independent users under a physical point of view;> Semi-residential services (bed-placement and daily Alzheimer centre) : bedplacementare for not independent users who need an accommodation only for a shortperiod of time; the second one assists people affected by Alzheimer syndrome;> Open services : food service, assistance in bathing, pedicure and hairdresser.The services are carried out by Civica in four different structures:1. RSA San Bartolomeo: is the headquarters of Civica, where there is also the administration. The ground floor is dedicated to the concierge (centralized for all structures), social services offices and ambulatory of the medical director. There are also a small multivalent living rooms, a chapel, rooms for animation and bathrooms for the public.The structure can accommodate a total of 124 people.2. RSA Gabbiolo : it hosts a total of 56 people on 3 floors. On the ground level, there is the entrance, the medical rooms and the gym for physiotherapy. On the first floor there are 2 rooms for special events (cultural meetings, etc.), workers' offices, kitchen, dining room, wardrobe, small kitchen for guests, 2 general rooms, 2 bedrooms, and rooms for theservices to the person (hairdresser, chiropodist-pedicure, etc.). On the second and third floor there are only bedrooms: single, double, 3-bed, and 4-bed. Each floor has a nursery room, a small kitchen, bathrooms outside the rooms, special bathroom and some meeting rooms. Within the structure there is a small catholic church.3. RSA “Angeli Custodi”: composed by 3 sector; in total the building hosts 108 people on 3 floors. On the ground level there is the entrance, the medical rooms, the gym for physiotherapy, service for the person, and the workers' offices. Within the building there is a small small Catholic place to prey. Floors 1, 2, and 3 have a room for nurses, a small kitchen, bathrooms outside the bedrooms, special bathroom, and some common spaces for guests and family members. As to the laundry, clothes are taken care of in the lower level.4. RSA Stella del Mattino”: it has 3 sectors divided on 3 floors, and it can host up to 70 people. On the ground level there are 12 rooms for guests, the kitchen, a living room with TV, the red room for guests and families and a dining room. The first floor hosts only bedrooms for guests. There are 5 single bedrooms for bed-placements, for those who stay for a shorter period of time. And a dining room The second and last floor has bedrooms for guests, medical room, workers' offices, gym for physiotherapy, service for the person (only in specific days).The guests' bedrooms are double and single rooms, and most of them have a private bathroom. On every floor there is a nursery and a small kitchen for workers, a bedroom with a special bathroom and a living room for guests. There are a number of common places such as the reading room, the meeting room, etc. There is also a small Catholic place where to prey. The building can also count on a lower floor with parking spaces and a laundry room. In Gardolo, there is a garden for guests.
