TOKA is a youth development non-profit organization, whose mission is to accelerate social change in Kosovo by investing in its youth. We are specifically focused on empowering youth from disadvantaged communities, who struggle to reach their full potential due to their socio-economic, gender or ethnic circumstances.
TOKA's programs aim to help our youth reach their potential, by:
1. Developing and implementing programs that improve the skills, employability and active citizenship of youth.
Main programs are: Residential Training Camps, Educational Excursions, Service Learning Clubs.
Since 2015, we have served over 20,000 youth, organized 50+ training camps for 1,500+ participants from Kosovo, the Balkans, Europe and North America.
2. Building the capacity of Youth Leaders (young adults that serve youth on a volunteer basis).
Main programs pillars are Training and mentoring programs to help Youth Leaders lead their Volunteer Clubs, regional study visits and exchanges for capacity building.
Since 2018, TOKA has supported the implementation of 100+ volunteering projects serving 50,000+ beneficiaries per year, covering roughly half of Kosovo’s municipalities. We currently have 100+ active Youth Leaders, leading Clubs with around 1,000 youth volunteers in total.
3. Advocating for better policies and practices for youth education and volunteering – through partnerships with Ministries, universities and schools in Kosovo, and the region.
