“Yeghvard” Youth - Ecological NGO was established on November 17, 2009. It is a non-profit, organization, completely managed by local youth members in Yeghvard. The NGO was created in order to address the needs of national youth by providing them an opportunity to combine their efforts and share information about current ecological, social and economical issues in Armenia. With a particular focus on promoting environmental awareness and appreciation, ''Yeghvard” Youth – Ecological NGO is committed to spreading ideas and information through young people, with the hope that youth can be empowered to take action locally to improve their communities.
Mission:
• Unite the youth to raise the role and participation of young people in solving environmental issues.
• Enlarge and develop the youth movement and create appropriate conditions for young people’s self-expression.
• Promote sustainable development by educating them.
• Raise awareness of environmental problems and to strengthen participation of youth in environmental decision-making.
Objectives:
• Contribute to the development and creative growth of the young people living in rural areas, to the expansion of the services for youth in the regions and to the implementation of local projects;
• encourage voluntary work and support youth initiatives
• develop and implement projects for the socially vulnerable groups and young people with fewer opportunities, contribute to the social involvement and develop a social work;
• contribute to the environment protection, awareness raising, take actions to stop climate chage, to the dissemination of sustainable human development procedure, to encourage a healthy lifestyle;
• apply non-formal methods of education in youth work, organize trainings, seminars, conferences, symposiums, festivals, exhibitions, camps, campaigns, and other events, to carry out researches, publications.
• develop projects aimed at improvement of educational, cultural, democratic, environmental knowledge of young people in Armenia
Vision:
The Organization seeks to: increase the significance of young people’s role in society; provide an opportunity for young people to gather together; offer youth the opportunity to share information and express ideas; increase youth motivation and self-esteem; guide young people to develop initiatives which promote social inclusion, democratic participation, environmental protection, healthy lifestyles, a healthy environment, and the preservation of national values.
Our target groups are socially vulnerable groups and young people with fewer opportunities aged 16-35 years old. Our local projects involve also people who are over 40 as we consider their motivation and interest on the topic of the project that we are realizing.

During its activity, "Yeghvard" NGO mostly implements projects aimed to youth work, by forming a legal, responsible, active citizen, by giving them a powerful tool the knowledge, not only in Yeghvard but in the regions of Armenia. Highlighting their role in enhancing statehood and building a civil society, the organization promotes the formation of a new value system, a healthy lifestyle among young people, while providing an opportunity for self-expression and self-realization. Emphasizing the role and importance of local self-government and democracy at the community level, organization implements projects aimed to promote youth participation in the decision-making process of the RA.

The organization works based on the principles of non-formal education, publishes different materials on youth and environmental projects. ”Yeghvard” NGO cooperates with other youth and environmental organizations, structures which are functioning in Armenia and in different countries of the Europe.
