Description of organisation

Association FOR YOU is a non-profit organization working for the public benefit. We believe in the equal rights of everyone for a worthy life. We are strongly oriented towards young people and we know that non-formal education is a very good possibility for them to gain skills and competencies. In Association FOR YOU, we organize free-time activities for young people, as well as for youth with disabilities. We provide young people with information about volunteering abroad, as well as help for job searching and job application. Since 2011 we have hosted and sent many volunteers and trainees abroad. We manage a network of local hosting organizations and we support the promotion of youth mobility in our town. Together with our volunteers, we organize presentations about EVS and ESC in schools and universities as well as international evenings and charitable events.
In 2011 Association FOR YOU gathered local volunteers and young people with disabilities and we started doing various arts and crafts activities together. In the beginning, the group made mostly jewellery. Over the years the workshop has become a place for various social, cultural and artistic events and projects. For a few years, all the activities were held in the organization’s office, but in 2017 the social workshop got its own space and a new name – a Place FOR YOU. We want a Place FOR YOU to be a safe place where local youth can feel confident and acquire skills that will allow them to be more self-sufficient and proactive. An atelier is a place for creative workshops, cooking classes, language activities, non-formal trainings and cultural events. Our main goal from the very beginning is to create a warm and welcoming environment. This is a place for entertainment, creativity, and social contacts for both the participants in a disadvantaged situation and other youngsters involved in the projects.
Since 2015 we participate in the management of a youth centre where we organize activities for the local youth in the field of sport, education, and culture.
Association FOR YOU actively works with youth at local and international level; supports and participates in the activities of Varna - European Youth Capital 2017; manages Youth Development centre, which aims to support disadvantaged young people to find work, engage in education, volunteering and internship. We work mostly with young people, including youngsters in a disadvantaged situation.
We also conduct training for young people who want to organize youth activities and events, to become youth workers, to start their business, or to be trainers.
We have sent more than 80 people abroad, and we have hosted over 100 people in our organization or in other organizations. For the last 10 years, we have taken part in more than 20 youth exchanges on the topics of youth unemployment, tolerance towards people with disabilities, discrimination on ethnic background, and contact building seminars. We have also organized youth exchanges, including young people with mental disabilities. We have also participated in YE with topics of fake news, people in disadvantaged situations represented in the media. We also organize local and national youth projects in order to help the youth gain skills through voluntarism and non-formal education as well as to foster tolerance and social inclusion for people in a disadvantaged situation.
