description of organisation

The Intecultural Centre "le Rondini" is a daily multicultural centre for children and teenagers created by the association of social promotion Le Rondini Onlus whose aim is to provide spaces and moments for social inclusion, intercultural learning, active citizenship, fostering youth participation.
Its main activity consists in supporting the after school daily tasks of children and youngsters between 6 and 16 years old, organizing recreational activities for Italian and foreign children and create network of relations offering learning activities for their families (in particular Italian language courses for mothers and women).
In the city area of Senigallia and its surroundings, The Intercultural Centre is open on a daily basis and has a permanent partnership with the town hall of Senigallia, with many local primary and secondary schools and with the Centro Servizi Volontariato of Ancona in order to promote volunteering and social inclusion through active participation, intercultural approach and active citizenship.
It was founded in 2012 by a group of volunteers who found in Senigallia (province of Ancona) the need to provide a space for mutual knowledge and interaction between children and teenagers coming from different backgrounds. Since then, Le Rondini is providing different kind of activities to reach this target group: media workshop, support to daily homework, recreational activities, but above all is active in building up a culture among the teenagers of tolerance and inclusion rejecting racism and excluding behaviours. The Centre aims, in fact, at promoting and sensitizing the territory in the field of cultural diversity, fighting social exclusion and bringing out the personal attitudes of the individual without social prejudices and oppressions. The centre is committed to the development of forms of prevention and fights against exclusion, racism, xenophobia, intolerance, discomfort, marginalization and loneliness.
