Mariaberg e.V. is a Diaconal Social Service institution with an offering that is available to people of all age groups, from early childhood to advanced age, who suffer from disabilities and social deprivation. The institution was founded in 1847 by Dr Carl-Heinrich Rösch, a public health officer from Urach. With a staff of more than 1,700 we take care of some 3,000 people in our region. Our institution is headquartered in Gammertingen. In the course of regionalisation in recent years additional facilities and new services has been created in the administrative districts of Sigmaringen, Reutlingen, Zollernalb, AlbDonau, Biberach as well as in Stuttgart and Ulm. Together with its subsidiaries, Mariaberg offers a wide range of support extending from in-house and externally assisted living, schooling and vocational education through to employment in workshops as well as offerings tailored to the needs of disabled senior citizens. Mariaberg offers assistance and a nurturing environment to people irrespective of the severity of their disability. Included are a hospital specialising in child and adolescent psychiatry, a medical therapy centre for people with disabilities and services in the areas of youth welfare and pre-school services. In addition, Mariaberg as an educational institution assists in integrating various target groups in the working world through educational activities and special vocational training programmes and vocational schools. In numerous communities of the region we are entrusted with open youth work. In addition, we organise a wide range of cultural and recreational events. Mariaberg is a transregional center for communnity based and resedential services in the disabled and youth area, as well as a carrier with various offers in area of ​​health and education. We offer people of all ages consulting, monitoring and assistance, diagnosis, treatment, promotion, support and care as well as training in different areas. Meanwhile, around 1,700 employees provide annually for around 3000 people appropriate social, educational, therapeutic and medical aids. in 14 factories and workshops are a total of about 600 young people of school and / or formed practically professionally. The professional concepts Mariaberg are based on the needs and circumstances of the clients. As service providers Mariaberg respects on the self-determination and right to vote of the clients. These tasks leads Mariaberg accordance with the general orientation, meaning Mariaberg is meeting all people on an eye level and respects the human rights of all clients as citizens. Mariaberg is supporting in everyday life and in the society for a fair balance of interests
of people with and without disabilities. The core set of our mission statement clarifies our core beliefs on which our work and our social commitment is structured: "to our basic Christian understanding every human being is created by God and loved by God. Human life is unique, irreplaceable, unavailable and beyond an evaluation of its diversity. His dignity is inviolable. We are all imperfect and rely on help, support and forgiveness. "This vision characterizes the specific profile Mariabergs that offers all people, regardless of the severity of the disability, help and promotion offers and also people with severe multiple disabilities and mental diseases can provide a wide range of therapies and support program. Mariaberg is organized in a main association and five subsidiaries. Each subsidiary has its own managing director and is closely linked to the association in shareholders' meetings.

For over 50 years, Mariaberg has been active in the training of young people. Both for people with, as well without disabilities. This affects both 400 young people in a special sophistication education, as well as over 120 young people on their way to the professional specialist in the social industry. An important part of this education is the voluntary social year. Here, more than 50 young people in their voluntary service are accompanied every year, supported and introduced to social work.

Mariaberg e.V. ist ein diakonischer Träger für soziale Dienste mit Angeboten für Menschen
mit Behinderung und sozialer Benachteiligung vom Kindes- bis zum Seniorenalter. Die
Einrichtung wurde bereits im Jahr 1847 von dem Uracher Amtsarzt Dr. Carl-Heinrich Rösch
gegründet. Mit rund 1.700 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern kümmern wir uns um rund
3.000 Menschen in der Region. Der Hauptstandort unserer Einrichtung ist in Gammertingen.
In den letzten Jahren wurden im Zuge der Regionalisierung weitere Einrichtungen und
Angebote in den Landkreisen Sigmaringen, Reutlingen, Zollernalb, Alb-Donau, Biberach
sowie Stuttgart und Ulm neu geschaffen und insbesondere stationäre Wohnplätze in diese
Region verlagert. Mariaberg bietet – zusammen mit seinen Tochtergesellschaften – ein
breites Spektrum von stationärem und ambulant betreutem Wohnen über Schulunterricht
und Ausbildung bis zur Beschäftigung in Werkstätten sowie Betreuungsangebote für
Senioren*innen mit Behinderung. In Mariaberg wird Menschen unabhängig von der Schwere
ihrer Behinderung Hilfe und Förderung angeboten. Eine Besonderheit Mariabergs ist die
Spezialisierung in bestimmten Bereichen. Hierzu zählen das Fachkrankenhaus für Kinder- und
Jugendpsychiatrie, individuelle Wohn- und Betreuungsformen sowie unsere Angebote in der
Jugendhilfe und im vorschulischen Bereich. Zudem unterstützt Mariaberg als Bildungsträger
unterschiedliche Zielgruppen durch Bildungsmaßnahmen sowie besondere Ausbildungen
und Berufsschulen bei der Integration ins Arbeitsleben. In zahlreichen Gemeinden in der
Region sind wir mit der Offenen Jugendarbeit und der Schulsozialarbeit betraut. Zudem
organisieren wir vielfältige Kultur- und Freizeitveranstaltungen. In 14 verschiedenen Firmen
und Werkstätten bereiten wir über 600 junge Menschen theoretisch und praktisch auf die
Eingliederung am ersten Arbeitsmarkt vor. Die fachlichen Konzepte Mariabergs sind auf die
Bedürfnisse und Lebensumstände unserer Klienten angepasst. Als Dienstleister respektieren,
achten und fördern wir das Recht auf Selbstbestimmung unserer Klienten als auch das Recht
zu Wählen. Dies zeigt sich auch in der unserem Menschenbild ‚von Mensch zu Mensch‘:
„Nach unserem christlichen Grundverständnis ist jeder Mensch von Gott geschaffen und von
Gott geliebt. Menschliches Leben ist einzigartig, unersetzlich, unverfügbar und entzieht sich
in seiner Verschiedenheit einer Bewertung. Seine Würde ist unantastbar. Wir alle sind
unvollkommen und auf Hilfe, Begleitung und Vergebung angewiesen.“ Unser Auftrag besteht
darin, den Menschen, die uns in Anspruch nehmen, ein Leben zu ermöglichen, welches
unserem Menschenbild entspricht. Deshalb sehen wir unsere Aufgabe darin, diese Menschen
in ihrer Einzigartigkeit anzunehmen, ihnen zur Seite zu stehen und sie bei der Bewältigung
des Lebensalltags zu unterstützen, mit dem Ziel, ihnen auf Augenhöhe zu begegnen und
Ihnen Partizipation und Inklusion in die Gesellschaft zu ermöglichen.
Mariaberg e.V. wird von einem hauptamtlichen Vorstand geleitet, dessen Mitglieder die
Geschäfte gemeinsam führen, aber unterschiedliche Aufgabenschwerpunkte haben. Der
Vorstand wird eingesetzt und kontrolliert durch den Mariaberger Verwaltungsrat, der von der
Backhaus/Brotzer 12.01.2022
Mitgliederversammlung gewählt wird. Der Verwaltungsrat und die Mitgliederversammlung
arbeiten ehrenamtlich.
Mariaberg kann im Bereich der Aus- und Weiterbildung von jungen Menschen über 50 Jahre
Erfahrung vorweisen. Und dies in der Arbeit mit jungen Menschen sowohl mit als auch ohne
Behinderung. Durch unsere verschiedenen Aus- und Weiterbildungsangebote bieten wir ca.
400 jungen Menschen die Möglichkeit einer Sonderausbildung an und begleiten über 120
junge Menschen auf ihrem Weg zur Ausbildung als Fachkraft in der Sozialwirtschaft. Ein
wichtiger Teil der Bildung von jungen Menschen und ein Bereich, in dem wir ebenfalls auf
breitgefächerte, langjährige Erfahrungen zurückgreifen können, ist das Freiwillige Soziale
Jahr. Während des Freiwilligendienstes werden in Mariaberg jährlich mehr als 50 junge
Menschen in sämtlichen Lebens- und Arbeitsbereichen bei Mariaberg eingesetzt und dort
von qualifizierten Fachkräften und Anleitenden bei ihrer Arbeit unterstützt und begleitet und
an die Arbeit im sozialen Bereich herangeführt.
