Description of organisation

The Francas are gathered around values ​​- humanism, freedom, equality, solidarity, secularism, peace - true benchmarks of meaning for acting in society, which they "bring to life" every day in their educational action, with the aim of making access children and young people to active citizenship. Education is designed both as a project promoting academic success and social integration.

The general objectives of the Francas du Lot departmental association are:
• Encourage the creation of spaces, collective project initiatives and youth engagement at European level
• Promote projects that promote encounters between all audiences for social diversity, cultural diversity and social inclusion
• Bringing the values of the French Republic and Europe to life in educational spaces
• Encourage expression, participation, autonomy, individual construction, critical thinking...
• Promote the creation of educational convergences
• Develop leisure facilities in all places where children and young people live by promoting territorial cooperation
• Encouraging citizen engagement and mobilizing educational actors
• Support community life in the area

The target groups of the Francas du Lot departmental project are:
• Children from 3 years old
• Teens
• Young people aged 17 to 30 concerning commitment, mobility and voluntary activity
• Occasional and professional animators
• Families
• Educational professionals (teachers, educators, childminders, etc.)

The regular activities of the Francas du Lot are:

• Support for youth projects: cultural, digital, leisure, stays...
• Support for the creation of youth spaces: territorial diagnoses, project support, etc.
• Supporting stakeholders in setting up European mobility projects
• Animation and training in digital education for young people and educational professionals,
• Welcoming and supporting young volunteers in civic service,
• The animation of extracurricular times: philosophical discussions, cooperative games, etc.
• Training and raising public awareness (children, facilitators) in favor of the inclusion of children with disabilities in leisure facilities
• The animation of networks: Disability network, facilitators network, coordinators network, Promeneurs Du Net network.
• Participation and animation of working groups: Youth Observatory, youth engagement, youth mobility.
• The organization of inter-centres around Francas educational practices.
• The organization of stays around the commitment of young people.
• The animation of training offered by the SDJES around benevolence, the commitment of children and young people, team dynamics.
• Initial and continuous training in voluntary animation
• Support and advice for the development of educational structures
• Hosting parenting cafés on different themes: digital, active listening, co-education, etc.
• The creation and animation of projects in partnership with other educational actors (schools, families, local associations)
• Raising awareness among children, young people and adults of the rights of the child (International Convention on the Rights of the Child)
• Training of community volunteers
