Description of organisation

Die Münchner Filmwerkstatt ist ein eingetragener, gemeinnütziger Verein zur Förderung der Independent-Film-Szene in der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt und fungiert als Begegnungsstätte für internationale Filmkultur, Medienbildung und unabhängiges Filmschaffen. Das umfangreiche Weiterbildungsprogramm umfasst eine Vielzahl von Seminaren, Lehrgängen, und Webinaren für Filmschaffende und alle, die es werden wollen, und richtet sich insbesondere an den Nachwuchs. Aktive, oft preisgekrönte Filmschaffende aus dem In- und Ausland geben hier ihr Wissen und ihre Erfahrungen weiter, was hohe Aktualität, Praxisrelevanz und kulturelle Vielfalt der Inhalte garantiert. Teilnehmende kommen aus unterschiedlichsten europäischen Ländern zur Weiterbildung nach München. Dozenten und Teilnehmende bilden zusammen unser Netzwerk in der Filmbranche und -szene. Im Sinne gegenseitiger Stärkung sind wir innerhalb der Kulturstadt München, aber auch landes- und bundesweit gut vernetzt. Als Mitglied von NISI MASA European Network for young cinema sind wir auch über die Deutschen Grenzen hinaus gut vernetzt und sorgen somit für eine weitreichende Verbindung mit anderen Organisationen aus dem Bereich Film-Weiterbildung.


The Munich Film Society (Münchner Filmwerkstatt e.V.) is the center of the independent film scene in the bavarian capital and a meeting place for international film culture, media education and independent filmmaking. The biggest part of our work consists of the training program which comrises workshops and further education courses for film enthusiasts, filmmakers and everyone who wants to become one. We especially aim to educate young creatives, who are still searching for their place in the creative world. The seminars and workshops are given by working professionals - often awardwinning filmmakers from Germany and abroad who shate their knowledge and experience, provide the training program with immediate and practical content and ensure cultural diversity. Participants come from various European countries to attend and both instructors and participants together constitute a local as well as international network of cinema culture. Together we establish the training as a systemically important program of further education for film and television professionals.
