Purpose, objectives and principles of APDD:

Asociatia Pro Dezvoltare DACIA (APDD) is an association, with non-political and non-profit character, established based on the provisions of GO no. 26 din 30.01. 2000, established in 2016, with the main purpose of supporting the development of responsible and active communities in terms of education, social, economic, cultural and ecological by fulfilling the objectives and activities proposed in the Statute:

• Promoting values related to equal opportunities and supporting the fight against social exclusion of people from groups at high risk of social marginalization;
• Organizing and carrying out volunteering activities;
• Carrying out programs for young people, consolidating personal and professional development through non-formal, informal and formal activities;
• Strengthening organizational capacity through active youth mobility;
• Promoting the principle of human solidarity, social equality and the development of interethnic dialogue;
• Promoting the principles of sustainable development, environmental protection and awareness of young people, regarding their importance;
• Education and training actions in the field of nature and environmental protection;
• Conducting workshops for young people on the "values to be cultivated through civic education: democracy, volunteering, charity, respect for values, solidarity, equal opportunities, non- discrimination, social and civic competences";
• Organizing and carrying out activities that contribute to a sustainable community development;
• Promoting digitalization as a tool for social development;
• Raising public awareness of the specific problems of disadvantaged social groups;
• Supporting the access and participation of disadvantaged groups in education and culture;
• Providing services and solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of the community, to prevent and limit situations of difficulty or vulnerability that may lead to marginalization or social exclusion;
• Defending the legitimate interests of various disadvantaged social groups - support for integration into the social environment - school, work, family;
• Organizing and conducting entrepreneurship training programs;
• Carrying out projects and partnerships to support social inclusion and insertion on the labor market for different categories of disadvantaged people;
• Promoting the partnership with different actors at local, regional, national and international level in the interest of developing useful projects target group and community development in general.

APDD is based in its organization and functioning on the following principles: initiative, involvement and cooperation, volunteering, respect and mutual support, transparency, equity, competition, responsibility, principledness, equality and legality.

Target group: young people in the community who face various economic, ethnic, social, geographical, educational barriers: young people with special needs, young people who drop out of school at an early age, unemployed, who are living on social aid, with parents abroad,from rural areas, youth people without income, living on subsistence agriculture, young people on the outskirts of neighborhoods, young people of Roma ethnicity (rudari, ursari, fierari, zlatari, romi, caldarari), young people with reduced digital skills, IT skills even if they have other forms of education, other types of marginalized young people.

Main activities:

APDD activities are structured on 4 levels (relevant fields: inclusion and diversity; employment / entrepreneurship; digitalization; ecology - climate change; active citizenship)
1. Volunteering:
a. EVS accreditation - 1 project - Start: European Solidarity Corps (Start ESC) implemented (01-02-2019 / 31.09.2021) - 12 international volunteers did the EVS in Drăgasani;
b. APDD volunteering activities.
2.Youth Programs: relevant 17 Erasmus + projects (11 youth exchanges / 6 APDD youth workers mobilities - applicant and coordinator and 14 Erasmus + projects as partners).
3. Adult education: 2 projects + Accreditation.
4. Vocational training: accredited training provider, 2 authorized entrepreneurship courses, 35 young people / adults from the community + Trainer.
APDD's activity has led to an increase in the degree of interest and involvement in volunteering actions, at local level, Dragasani Municipality and regional, Valcea County. This generated a growing interest in ESC / Erasmus + programs, with 196 members in the organization, 110 of whom expressed interest in participating in ESC projects, as volunteers abroad, for personal and community development, gaining relevant experience for implementation at the level of their own communities, in Romania.

During its activity period, APDD has developed a system of international relations with European organizations, with experience in the implementation of Erasmus + projects, involving over 705 young people from Europe, of which over 50% with fewer opportunities.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
