Description of organisation

Pythia SCE (Social Cooperative Enterprise) is a social enterprise, based in Eleftheroupoli of Kavala at the Prefecture of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Its mission is to offer educational, cultural, touristic, development, social and economic services at the local citizens of Kavala, Drama and Serres region. By acquiring the experience and knowledge of its key members, Pythia Koinsep is the organisation to fulfill any social needs concerning culture, nature, ecology, education, local products, traditional customs and professions. Pythia SCE aims to find all necessary ways and means to tackle social and economic challenges and help local people fulfill their needs. We divide our activities in fields of interest.

Agricultural/Historical/Archaeological field:
Social, cultural, artistic, dancing, theatrical, musical and athletic organisations, but also folk festivals, competitions and games, in Greece or Europe, aiming to promote the Greek Culture.

Educational field:
Educational seminars, professional education programs, lifelong learning programs, workshops, conferences and other initiatives that aim at the development of people’s knowledge and competences.

Erasmus+ field:
YE Mobility projects, Training courses, Sport events
The social enterprise is specialised in planning and implementation of seminars that intend to develop the abilities of our young people. Several seminars are developed with the cooperation of Greek government entities (eg. Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Citizen Protection) and ensure an accredited certification, which can be used in the labor market.

Volunteering for Pythia KOINSEP is a great chance to participate in a new culture, learn about new customs and habits, meet new people and learn the Greek language. The historic background of this country is a great opportunity for everyone to indulge in the 8.000 years history of the Kavala region, visit its basic attraction, learn about Myths and Philosophy, taste new agricultural products, listen to traditional music, integrate into the local community, meet other young people, socialise, participate in leisure activities. This intercultural approach that Pythia is having for years, enables people to get more open-minded, to have experiences out-of-the-box and support the inclusion and tolerance towards new cultures.

Learning Outcomes
In terms of learning outcomes, volunteering is the best way to acquire non - formal education, to feel like offering to an organisation, its people and its local community, and to advance your personal and professional capabilities and competence.
