Description of organisation

Kalajoki Christian college was founded in 1942. Our campus is located in Kalajoki. We have new dormitory, large cafeteria and own kindergarten on campus. We also have a summer camp home in Kangasala near Tampere. We have 26 people working in our college and 10 in our daycare center. We have approximately 200 students and 2500 people attending to our short classes. The college organizes both vocational education and general education for Finnish language and for Finnish basic education. Our vocational students will work in early childhood education or in schools as teaching aides.

Our specialty is to organize courses for the children and for the people with disabilities. We have also immigrant and refugee students who study and live on our campus. Students that are training for vocational degree study mostly from Monday to Friday, and on weekends we have different students attending in our short courses.

Our founder is a more than a hundred year old Finnish Christian association Uusheräys, which promotes working with youth and children. Our goal is to be an open and encouraging Christian community. Read more about us in English: http://kkro.fi/tervetuloa-opistolle/information-in-english/
