description of organisation

Since its creation in 1975, the primary mission of the Ebreuil social center has been to promote local development in our rural territory. Our 2020-2023 social project has been developed in collaboration with the local population and is based on local resources and needs. The social center is a multipurpose place open to all. Where everyone can find activities and services in the most varied fields such as social, cultural and educational. But also health, animation, information, etc. The social center addresses a large public, from early childhood to the elderly, with intergenerational actions favoring social mix.

Moreover, the social center operates in a territory covering 18 member municipalities: Ebreuil and its surroundings which are part of the community of municipalities of St Pourçain Sioule Limagne. The establishment of the social center is thus supported by other sites on the whole territory in order to allow us to carry out actions of proximity. In 2020, the association counted 394 member families, that is to say approximately 604 registered persons.

The axes of the 2020-2023 social project are declined according to four terms representative of the action of the association: Live, Initiate, Value and Animate. Within these four axes, several actions are detailed, including the following in connection with the European Solidarity Corps and the Erasmus+ program:

1: Between exchange and sharing: knowledge sharing and leisure, intergenerational activities
2: Facing initiatives: accompanying the inhabitants in the setting up of projects and the co-organization of events.
2.1 : Promote mobility: encourage international mobility and create a dynamic of solidarity on the whole territory, fight against social and geographical isolation and encourage youth mobility
2.2 : Youth and commitment : to accompany and propose collective projects and to accompany young people in their autonomy process.
3: The Support Point for Associative Life: to encourage the sharing of skills, raise awareness of collective and associative commitment and develop links between associations.
3.1 : Share intercultural richness and open-mindedness: welcome the European solidarity corps and international youth exchanges (fight against racism and discrimination)
4 : Animate the associative life of the social center: develop the associative spirit.
4.1 : Animation of the youth : creation of cultural, intercultural and leisure activities.

The long-term objectives of the social center are: To encourage the inhabitants to participate actively in the improvement of their living conditions; To contribute to the development of solidarity on the territory; To develop education and culture; To bridge intercultural, intergenerational and social divisions; To reinforce solidarity and prevention; To fight against social exclusion and to work in the improvement of youth policies.

Our motto is "Another daily life, citizen and solidarity". The social center promotes, creates and manages all activities and services in collaboration with young people, their families and other inhabitants.

At the European level, the association develops all its projects by promoting the values of inclusion and diversity, tolerance and democratic participation. Its role is also to raise awareness of diversity and common European heritage, to support the development of professional networks across Europe, to develop European awareness in rural areas, to raise awareness of sustainable development among the local population, to promote the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities (JAMO).
