description of organisation

"Appoggiati a me" was born in March 2014 because of the commitment of a group of parents - united by the need to fill the gaps of public welfare in terms of disability and the desire to build a sustainable life project over time for a future of real social inclusion of own children.
Since December 2016, the association's conversion into "ONLUS", while the organizational structure has been oriented towards full and constant management cooperation between professionals (psychologists, psychotherapists, professional educators, sports technicians, etc.) under the supervision of the consultant dott.ssa Chiara Ferrari, who takes care of the therapeutic aspects, and the families - through the Board of Directors - who instead take care of the management part of the association and the sites of activities, as well as the awareness and institutional meetings part.
From 2018 the growing number of members has led to an even better internal organization, in which each parent has a specific organizational and/or logistic task and each operator is a reference in the various projects carried out, always under the supervision of the consultant Dr. Ferrari.
Objectives of the association are:
- Given the internationally recognized scientific scenario, to improve the autonomy and social inclusion of future adults with disabilities through intensive individualized actions taken as earlier as possible.
- To Buildi a network of good practices with public administrations, private bodies, other associations, ASLs, schools and all those who work or are in contact with children during daily life.
Target groups are children from 2 years old- with a diagnosis of cognitive-behavioral or even physical problems, while there is no maximum age limit, because we focus substantially on the "cognitive age" of the boy/girl - which is the level of skill and autonomy achieved.
For the greatest part we are talking about children with important communication needs, without whom it is impossible to aim for an improvement in the quality of life; once that first step is reached, we move on to basic personal autonomies, to those relating to family life and school life, to social life and then to carrier. Most of them are children/adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, but there are also motor disabilities.
