Description of organisation

When art meets people : Orfeo's aim is to create social and cultural links through art, in particular targeting the most disadvantaged social groups. The means used is the organisation of cultural events and workshops in the place of living of our target groups. Our young organisation is growing very quiclkly and steadily and we organise currently more than 100 events a year in Brussels in locations such as youth centers, asylum seekers shelthers, homeless people shelters, schools, ...
The artistic disciplines which are represented in our activities encompass all performance arts and we seek as much diversity as possible. We currently have a network of 170 engaged artists which grows regularly.
The role of the Orfeo team is matching the artists and the locations, seeking new partners, defining the programming, organising the performances, contacting new artists, communicating on our activites , designing new projects, ....
The activities encompass the very regular viewing of artistic performances of all kinds.
We are a young, diverse and very dynamic team of currently three permanent staff, one volunteer and we also welcome trainees most of the year. We valorise everyone's skills and see diversity as a great asset which we valorise at most. Since we are developing and looking for new opportunities , creativity and initative are very much encouraged. Permanent training of the staff is an important element of our work approach. We are looking for volunteers to help us in the organisation of the events and supporting us more generally on the developing of the project depending on their skills and interests.
