AMAQY (Yonnaise Local Community Centers Association) is an association of the city of La Roche sur Yon in Vendée (85). La Roche-sur-Yon, the Vendée capital, now has a population of nearly 55,000 and a suburban area of over 100,000.

The city of La Roche sur Yon has entrusted the AMAQY with the management of 9 Community Centers, 6 recreation centers, 8 youth clubs, grocery storesin solidarity...to develop its project of animation and social link. The AMAQY is also supported by the CNAF and the CAF of the Vendée for projects of neighborhood houses, family projects, solidarity actions, education and support to the parental function.

Each of the 9 neighborhood houses is animated by an animation committee, composed of inhabitants and an animation team that implements an animation project in line with the resources and needs of the neighborhood. This project is carried out jointly with professionals, elected officials and residents of the neighbourhoods, with the support of the various participants present on the territory (social workers, sports and cultural associations...)

A Community Center is an equipment with a family and social, cultural vocation, that welcomes all generations. It offers a range of individual and collective services to families (reception for young children, adolescents and young adults, leisure activities, support for families) and promotes social exchanges. It is a place of meetings, of expression of the inhabitants, of creation of projects. Residents and associations meet there for all types of social, family, sports, cultural activities… This association brings together more than 8,000 members who participate in the activities and animation of Community Centers.

The association has a charter in which it describes the values on which it wishes to develop its project. These are the following values:

• Human dignity and freedom
• citizenship and democracy
• solidarity
It is also based on the principle of secularism.

Recently, the leaders of the AMAQY have expressed these values in the associative project and the educational project. These two documents are of course linked, the educational project makes it possible to formalize the associative project towards minors particularly in the context of collective receptions of minors (leisure centers and youth clubs, camps, exchanges of young Europeans...).

The associative project describes the ambitions of the association to develop activities of social interest in the following 4 areas:

• Culture (s)
• Education
• Ecological transition
• Recreation

The educational project is the mirror of the associative project applied in our activities for minors and which is available in the following 4 axes:

• Access to educational leisure and vacation departure
• Educate the environment
• Develop cultural and intercultural openness
• participation in citizenship, involvement and empowerment.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
