Description of organisation

Microcosmo is a small certified organic farm of 1 hectare of surface, that produces around 60 species of vegetables in the open field and in greenhouses.

The company implements organic farming practices to create an ecologically harmonious environment, where external inputs are less and less necessary.

Work activities are seasonal in nature, even if recurring activities can be identified: sowing in containers and in soil, transplanting, watering / irrigation and fertigation, treatments (with phytosanitary products allowed in organic farming and / or prepared on their own), green pruning and trimmings, composting, setting up of flower beds with mulch and - where necessary with - supports, collection / washing / packaging, sale (mainly in the farm, in solidarity buying groups, in two monthly markets, at school canteen and restaurants), maintenance and materials, reorganization of the spaces of the farm.

The participation in organic markets is a fundamental step to raise awareness about conscious consumption of healthy food.
