Peräpohjolan Opisto is a independent folk high school which was founded already in 1901. The school locates in a traditional, scenic landscape of Tornio Kiviranta by the famous free flowing Tornio River.
The Immediate vicinity of the Swedish border offers wide range of cultural opportunities to our students.
Peräpohjolan Opisto provides vocational upper secondary qualification, further vocational qualification in the fields of education and guidance sector. At Peräpohjola Opisto, you can study, for example, as a youth and community instructor and a children's instructor.
In addition it is possible to complete adult basic educationtion or study liberal education studies at Peräpohjolan Opisto.
Our personnel consists of 20 people. Currently we have approximately 250 to 280 students, most of them are young adults. Peräpohjolan Opisto also has a substance- and smoke-free student dormitory which accommodates up to 32 persons.
