IUT2 is an institute that is part of University Grenoble Alpes. We deliver quality education which is both vocational and academic. Our main diploma is the DUT _ University Technological Diploma _ which is a two-year university degree that enables students to seek employment or pursue their
studies. We also deliver top-up years for a three-year vocational degree _ Licence Professionnelle.
IUTs are comparable to German Fachhochschules, Irish Institutes of Technology, and so on. IUT2 Grenoble includes 8 departments and one training centre over 4 locations: Legal Studies, Social Service Careers, Business and Administration Management (2 departments), Information and
Communication, Computer Science, Business and Marketing, Statistics and Business Intelligence, and the Training Centre for Chartered Accountants.
We have a little over 3,000 students, 190 permanent teaching staff _ lecturers, researchers, and associate professionals _ 97 administrative and technical staff, and 420 part-time teaching staff, many of whom also work in private companies.
We have many partner universities in Europe and throughout the world. In 2018-2019 we welcomed 32 incoming exchange students and sent out 146 for studies _ one semester or one year. One of our strategic priorities is to welcome more exchange students, and to achieve this we are continually
expanding our offer of classes taught in English. In September 2019 we opened an International licence, thereby manifesting our strong desire for an international dimension.
Our students come from a variety of social backgrounds; about 30% of them are on a scholarship.
One of the missions of IUTs is to offer opportunities to students with a technical secondary school diploma (bac STMG), who have fewer studying opportunities; about 30 % of a cohort has a technical secondary school diploma. After graduating from the IUT with a two-year degree, 90% of the
students go on studying, in a one year top-up for a vocational degree, a year abroad or for longer studies at University, a Business School or an Engineering
