Association Odyssée

Association Odyssée is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote:
-the experimentation in the field of intercultural and learning situations,
-the reinforcement of European and World citizenship, spirit of tolerance and social cohesion,
-the commitment and the participation of everyone in the different levels of our society (within companies, working groups, sport groups, citizens, young people, associations, social structures, people with fewer opportunities etc.).

Association Odyssée is implementing activities highlighting the learning outcomes acquired in formal, non-formal and informal contexts for the purposes of a better cooperation and tolerance between individuals and a better understanding of our world. A local stakeholders’ cooperation is implemented in order to make the associations, businesses, public bodies and individuals closer towards shared final goals, including by exchanging practices with their peers in Europe.

Odyssée is operating thanks to the involvement of its members, board members, volunteers and permanent team. Its Board Members have over 10 years of experience on European projects in the framework of Erasmus+, Lifelong Learning Program, Erasmus and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. Other members of Association Odyssée have experience in private fields such as companies, associations in different sectors (education and training, international cultural events, local development): their contribution is obviously very important for the association’s projects and reinforces the implementation of the different actions.

Association Odyssée is organized around several activities’ areas:

-European and international cooperation: acts for the lifelong learning process, promote the cooperation between the different actors of our society at different levels (associations, schools and high schools, young people, citizens, entreprises… at local, European, international levels), promote the diversity and the interculturality of our world, reinforce the European and world citizenship and social cohesion. Odyssée is involved in several Erasmus+ projects such as “Intermove for Trainers” as partner managed by INCOMA and “Escape Your Stereotypes” as coordinator aiming at promoting the fight against prejudices and discriminations among young people with the implementation of an educational escape room. Our association is committed in those Erasmus+ projects and is developing a network at European level and at local level on such topics: informal and non-formal education and learning methods, intercultural activities with young people from various countries, social work, supporting migrants, refugees and people with the subsidiary protection, linguistic and intercultural skills etc. Odyssée is used to cooperate with non-profit organisations working with international students, with university with international departments and with high schools.

-Intercultural, linguistic and cultural activities: make the relations easier between the individuals especially young people, experiment the intercultural situations by mobilities or in the everyday life, broaden the knowledge of foreign languages and French Foreign language based on non-formal learning methods, outdoor activities and linguistic stays, value the local cultural heritage. Odyssée implements French language activities and stays, cultural activities and intercultural activities with young people from France and from other various countries based on interactive and gamified activities to allow them to break their barriers, to exchange using their communication and intercultural skills, to share ideas, points of view, cultural information etc., to reflect on their prejudices and talk about citizenship and values. Those activities are implemented regularly in partnership with local organizations such as training centers specialized in European mobility, vocational high schools, youth organizations, international mobility organizations…
