description of organisation

"In 2016, CSR Europe and the European Commission’s “The European Pact4Youth” initiative brought together the business, government and civil sectors to develop a continental action plan.

The main points are:
-Let vocational training and internships be of full value to young people
-Make business and education cooperation the new European standard
-Make entrepreneurship education universal

Along the vision of CSR Europe, the initiators of the Hungarian Pact4Youth also believe that it is essential for the competitiveness of Europe and Hungary that the youth have the appropriate competencies. To this end, the partner organizations see a need to strengthen cooperation between government, business and civil society. In the spirit of this, in 2017 we organized one of the first CSR-themed conferences in the country, which focused on the development of corporate sustainability on the one hand, and on the change of attitude of the civil sector in order to get closer to corporate cooperation. A member of the management of CSR Europe and ENGIE, as well as the Swedish ambassador on behalf of Swedish companies, also spoke here.

After the event, we established an active working relationship with European initiators and created the Hungarian Pact4Youth round table series, to which as many diverse teams of experts as possible joined. Our first and one of our strongest supporters since the beginning is the Ministry of Human Resources, which, on behalf of IFESHÁT and then FIHÁT, dr. Boglárka Illés and currently Zsófia Rácz represent, and here we were invited to become a permanent member of the Round Table for Youth Forum. The membership of the round table, and then of the working group, includes high-level experts from several ministries, administrative bodies, business representatives and the most prominent youth advocacy and scientific organizations.

Through the joint cooperation, we were able to develop the Hungarian Youth Action Plan and write our “Good Practice Collection” publication, which was presented and sent to the Commission by our delegation in Brussels in 2017. Although the initiative rounds were abolished in most countries, it continued to operate in Hungary, and in the presence of Commissioner Tibor Navracsics and Dutch Ambassador René van Hell, we formed an association at the headquarters of the American Chamber of Commerce, which also shows that several of its key players are actively interested in our activities. Our round table also continued to operate as a working group, the foundations of which were laid in the EMMI Mirror Room, so that the country's most important youth organizations and government bodies remained active participants in our proposal-making processes. Our current main goal is to introduce the Internship 2.0 framework developed by our youth and company forums, following our social consultation, to both those entering the labour market and companies. This will be complemented by a fully automated validation system due to the changed circumstances, which will be completed in the first half of June.

The current situation also required innovative solutions from our organization, for the implementation of which we use European funds and the support of the National Office for Research, Development and Innovation. We want to create an integrated education - job search - employment platform that helps young people to find a long-term job in the labour market and to find the young people with the most ideal competencies for companies."
Our organization has three target groups in particular: the youth as future employees, the employers and governmental bodies which can enhance employers to hire young employees. The organization itself is situated in Budapest and coordinates its partner network from its head quarters, situated in the V. district. Our main objective is to create policy recommendations to the government to enhance the employment of youth, especially the NEET youth, educating employers how they can create an inclusive working environment, polling the youth, including the NEET youth via our partners and directly by our professional staff. Our partners are ranging from organizations, active country-wide as well as local ones, working on the transition of the NEET youth to the active labour market (Budapest, Debrecen, Tetétlen, Békéscsaba...). Our partners are operating according to the norms of Pact4Youth, guaranteed by our memorandum of understanding (more information on our partners: https://pact4youth.hu/#partners).
