Description of organisation

Länsi-Saimaan 4H-association is a non-profit youth organization and its a politically and religiously non-aligned. 4H arranges leisure activities for children and young people between aged 6-28 years old. The basic ideology in 4H is to learn by doing. Länsi-Saimaan 4H-association is a member of the Finnish 4H-federation. We have had 4H activities for more than 90 years.
For 6-12 years old children we have 4H-clubs, after school clubs and camps. There children can learn new skills as cooking, handicrafts, entrepreneurial, green and interaction skills together under the guidance of club leaders.
For young people aged 13 and older we support their first steps as entrepreneurs. You can develop your own projects as 4H-hobby company and be a self-employed. You can be an entrepreneurial for example by planning and implementing your own events or youth exchanges, too.
4H offers young people the opportunity to make friends with other cultures by participating in exchange projects etc.
We prepare them skills that will be useful in working life and give them opportunities to get their first work experience. If you need pocket money or summer job you can register for the 4H-association as a labor resource. 4H provides temporary labor according to customer order. If you are ambition and interested in youth work we have different opportunities for trainees, club leaders and instructors in our organization.
Our projects for ESC volunteers are related to our activities and we have a lot of cooperation with schools and other stakeholders, too.
Our organization operates in the countryside, in the region of Western Saimaa. The area is located in the province of South Karelia, in the Lappeenranta region. The LAU 1 number for the area is 091.
