Description of organisation

Educational center is founded in the July 2000, and registered in May 2001, as non government, non political and non profit organization. The Mission of ECK is promotion and development of civil society, trough life long non formal education and support to active engagement.
ECK is aimed at two areas of priorities:
- The implementation of life long non formal citizen education in the field of democracy, civil society, human rights, the respect of differences and culture of peace and non violence
- The support of active youth participation in social life of the community
Educational center is mainly intended for the youth. Our goal is to guarantee creative and quality time for youth to spend, by projects in the following themes: non-formal education and training, creative workshops, international youth projects, voluntary work, etc. Educational center offers free internet access, social games, books, and publications from governmental as well as non-governmental organizations. In addition, youth can also attend various programs of non-formal education, learn about youth exchange programs and international participation and thus express their own desires and also potentials.
From 2006 to 2013 we have been accredited by the European Commission for European Voluntary Service. We have hosted 15 EVS volunteers and sent six volunteers to different EVS projects. Organization is the member of several national and international networks: National Youth Coucil of Serbia, National association of youth workers Serbia, National coalition for decentralization, Forum OCD Krusevac, South East Youth European Network, Regional Youth against discrimination.
Educational center Krusevac has several programs: non formal education of young people, career guidance and counselling, volunteering program, employability program, radio, EU integration program.
Educational center Krusevac is currently building its own facilities, hub which will operate under name of “New industry”. The hub will be a place to gather creative young people and active citizens of Krusevac, it will be house of civic activism, volunteer center, youth center, coworking space and place to organize various events, workshops, trainings, etc. Educational center Krusevac runs a small internet radio “KRAK” (Krusevac Radio Activistic Corner” which deals with local issues, promotes youth activism, volunteering, solidarity and lifelong development of young people.
In the past years, ECK has implemented more than 50 projects with youth at the local level, with the participation of over 800 youth, has also organized 15 international training courses, around 10 workcamps, participated in more than 20 international youth exchanges and has initiated or participated in projects at the national level, which are dealing with youth policy and the active participation of youth.
