The DMJV Family and Child-Welfare Centre provides general and special services to people and families who are in crisis situations, have other difficulties, mental hygienic problems to prevent and stop these situations to happen and to preserve the essential life skills. The target groups are the individuals, children and their families. Our professionals use the tools and methods of social work in order to help the clients with their difficulties such as unemployment, problems with debt and housing, disability, addiction and psychiatric issues. The institution has two professional unities, the Family and Child-Welfare Centre and the Family and Child-Welfare Service. In addition to its headquarters, the institution has four regional offices located in different parts of Debrecen.
The institutions has family and child support services, legal counseling, psychological counseling, hospital and street social work services, school and kindergarten social work services, family consultation, mediation, social diagnose, contacting duties, developmental pedagogue services, and on call duties. The aim of the institution is to follow with attention the living conditions, social situations of the individuals, children and families who get in contact with us and live in the scope of the institution. Our services contribute to the emotional and physical health of the children, to promote raising them within their families, prevent and stop the vulnerability of children.
In our institution we regularly organize thematic, prevention, craft and other leisure programs. We organize craft afternoons related to festivities, occasions (Carnival, Women's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Children's Day, Father's Day, Vintage, Martin's Day, Halloween, Santa Claus, Christmas), clubs, groups (Baby-Mama Club, Creative Design Club, "Golden Walnut" group), family afternoons (Easter, Mother's Day, Children's Day, Santa Claus, Christmas preparation) and all-day events (Children's Day, Family Day) for our clients, families and children. During the holidays, we provide summer activities for preschool and primary school children. Kindergarten and school social workers provide prevention activities in kindergartens and schools during the school year.
These programs can take place in one of our institutions, temporary social houses, nursery schools, primary and high schools. The target group of these programs is our clients, underprivileged families, children, students and individuals.
The institution provides services to local pension organizations, associations, non-governmental organizations. We host their events and participate in organizing and conducting.
In the fall of 2020, a playground for disabled and healthy children was created and handed over in the institution’s park, which could function as another community and leisure space in the future.
