description of organisation

Our association Műintézet was founded in 2018, for running the community printmaking workspace called DRUKKER. Our idea is based on the obsession of creating prints in a community. Couple of ALUMNI students from the city of Pécs formed a group of creators and invited other artists, teachers, and students to join the printmaker society. We started working together in 2018, and since then we have been successfully cooperating with other local and national NGO's from various fields of activism, like housing problems, homeless caring, LMBTQI+ organisations, community development, and art educational institutions from regional and nationwide universities. We have successfully released art-zine publications, and some thematic series of handcrafted prints. We believe that we are a substantial and always growing community with various opinions, and we encourage other people and groups to behave like an active citizen and a generally responsible local resident. We try to teach and make art, spend valuable time together under the flag of collective solidarity.
We are also representing, promoting, and managing emerging young artists and advocating for modern perspectives of Eastern Europe. Because many talents lack mentorship and a platform to share their artwork, we aim to give them the opportunities and respect they deserve. We take on the roles of manager and talent promoters in the art scene.
We have got venues in Pécs and also workshops all around hungary and in Serbia. In Pécs city - we manage an open community and creative space. Our Association organizes several printmaking art-, socially engaged illustration workshops, comics and artzines- making curses and gatherings of global zine-makers.
Workshops we have done: Letterpress and relief printingmaking, bookibinding/DIY zinemaking, screenprinting, creative collages-and montages techniques workshops.
We organize print exchange, art market and presentations with invited guests in the topic of socially engaged illustration and DIY art history.
We are open to participating in creative, socially engaged projects, non-formal education projects and training.
We would host volunteers who would like to work with us and interested for our initiatives.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
