description of organisation

The official center of the Youth Cultural Association is in Nyíregyháza, while our knowledge center is in Vásárosnamény. One of our main activities is to help young people to take an active, responsible role in local social life. It organizes and assists the implementation of trainings, courses, meetings and other programs. One of our main goals is to establish cross-border relations.

We have entered into a performance contract for youth and cultural affairs with the city council, in the framework of which we implement a number of programs in our city and region every year.

Our main activities:
1, Youth counselling, youth center
We help young people to solve their problems with competent professionals (social workers, child protection teachers, nurses) in the following areas: legal, employment, lifestyle, drug prevention, sexual, small community counselling. Career guidance and employment counselling are particularly important, as the main problem in the region is the rising unemployment rate. Youngsters come to our consultants from other towns, as well.

Our association undertook to organize and conduct continuous consultations, lectures and roundtable discussions that meet the needs of non-profit organizations in the region. We get lots of help from the local civil development centers. We invite speakers from different areas, e.g. economic consultants, application writing professionals and non-profit professionals.
The main task of the association is to protect the rights and interests of young people. Our organization helps local student governments and creates opportunities for young people to play an increased role in public life.
It organizes trainings, courses, meetings and other programs in order to improve the life, employment, further learning and other life chances of young people. Among other things, we organize nonformal trainings on the following topics: development of key competencies, conflict management, career guidance, equal opportunities, sensitization for people with disabilities. The association assists in the organization and management of events (sports, cultural, leisure or entertainment) aimed at age groups, or takes over the organization of such events as much as possible.
The aim of our association is also to provide a legal and institutional framework for the initiatives belonging to this activity, for the implementation of active social actions, and for the formation of youth communities and self-organizing groups.
The task of the association is to deal with young people personally, to that end to use new and more effective tools than before, to organize various events, programs and events.
To achieve the above mentioned objectives, it publishes, obtains and distributes publications.
In order to carry out its tasks, the association seeks to co-operate with other organizations.

2, Service Center
There is an employment center of almost 500 m2 in Vásárosnamény, where we accept volunteers who have experience as a ceramicist and are skilled in the fine arts. Our leader ceramicist graduated at the Canadian Academy of the Arts. All needed tools are available for these activities - red clay, white clay, two 1.5 m3 kilns. Within the framework of the ceramics production activity, we want to establish a social entrepreneurship circle, in the framework of which we will return the amount received from the sold ceramics to the activities of the association. We also use the creative workshop itself to engage young people and develop their creativity and entrepreneurial competencies.

3, Nature conservation activities
There are wetlands in the area, such as Túr, Kraszna or Tisza. The geographical location has therefore made it clear that we organize nature conservation and education programs for young people. There are many cultural heritage sites in the area, so we are creating thematic programs related to them.

4, Organizing thematic clubs, e.g.:
• youth events
• ceramic club
• baby-mom club
• former online education for retirees - user-level basics, digital communication
• conscious financial planning club - life management, life planning, lifestyle - this and the one for retirees have stopped due to the pandemic

5, Implementation of programs in the framework of international partnerships
Over the past 20 years, we have participated in a number of international programs, primarily with organizations operating in the surrounding countries (Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania). The proximity of the borders offers good opportunities to build close relations. Mostly cultural and youth events were organized, but we also carried out joint research with universities in neighboring countries on several occasions.
6, Organizing camps
Every summer we run various thematic camps for children and young people for 4-6 weeks (eg dance, experience, environmental protection)

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
