Der Name des Vereines ist auch sein Programm: Gemeinwesentwicklung Stadtfeld - und für dieses Ziel arbeitet der Stadtteilverein bereits seit 2011 erfolgreich. Fünf starke Partner haben sich einst zusammengeschlossen, um gemeinsam eine positive Entwicklung im Hildesheimer Stadtteil Stadtfeld anzustoßen und voranzutreiben. Das kleinräumige Wohngebiet in Stadtrandlage, das durch Verkehrsachsen (Autobahn, Bundesstraße, Bahnlinie) sozialräumlich "verinselt" ist, war lange Zeit sich selber überlassen. Während im westlichen Teil des Siedlungsgebietes Einfamilienhäuser das Stadtteilbild prägen, dominieren im östlichen Bereich Wohnblöcke. Hier verdichteten sich früh die sozialen Problemlagen: ein überwiegender Migrantenanteil mit starker internationaler Durchmischung, viele kinderreiche Familien, hohe Arbeitslosigkeit und Transferleistungsbezug. Demgegenüber verfügte das Einzugsgebiet kaum über soziale Infrastruktur und Versorgungsangebote im Nahbereich.
Mit einem gemeinwesenarbeiterischen Konzept und einer Förderung durch das Land Niedersachsen, ging der frisch gegründete Verein 2011 an die Arbeit. In einer Erdgeschoss-Wohnung im Wohnblock-Bereich in Stadtfeld-Ost wurde ein zentrales "Stadtteilbüro Stadtfeld" eingerichtet. Die Angebote für die Nachbarschaft folgten von Anfang an den vier Schwerpunkten Beratung, Bildung, Freizeit- und Gemeinwesenarbeit.
In dem neu gebauten Stadtteilzentrum soll die Vereinsarbeit ab Ende 2022 stationiert, fortgeführt und mit neuen Angeboten weiterentwickelt werden.

The name of the association is also its programme: Community Development Stadtfeld - and the district association has been working successfully towards this goal since 2011. Five strong partners once joined forces to initiate and promote positive development in the Stadtfeld district of Hildesheim. The small-scale residential area on the outskirts of the city, which is "isolated" in socio-spatial terms by transport axes (motorway, federal road, railway line), was left to its own devices for a long time. While single-family houses dominate the western part of the settlement, apartment blocks dominate the eastern part. Here the social problems became concentrated early on: a predominantly migrant population with a strong international mix, many families with many children, high unemployment and transfer payments. On the other hand, the catchment area had hardly any social infrastructure and services in the vicinity.
With a community work concept and funding from the state of Lower Saxony, the newly founded association started work in 2011. A central "Stadtfeld district office" was set up in a ground-floor flat in a block of flats in Stadtfeld-Ost. From the beginning, the offers for the neighbourhood followed the four focal points of counselling, education, leisure and community work.
From the end of 2022, the association's work will be stationed in the newly built district centre, where it will be continued and further developed with new offers.
