Description of organisation

LOGS Association - Group of Social Initiatives is a grass-roots organization established in western Romania, which promotes the integration of vulnerable groups of migrants, fights against human trafficking and uses education as a means of overcoming social vulnerabilities. The members of the organization are social professionals, trainers and refugees and migrants settled in Romania.
LOGS Association was established in November 2019 with the mission to actively participate in the development of urban and rural communities in Romania to support the identification, response and overcoming of the specific needs of vulnerable groups, with the involvement of local community and volunteers by organizing social projects. , intercultural and educational. The initiatives of the association are closely related to the expertise of the funders members: social and psychological counseling, education and training, prevention of human trafficking, social graphics and migration.
LOGS Association aims to achieve the following objectives:
a) Increasing the access of vulnerable groups to social, intercultural and educational spaces and combating discrimination of any kind and supporting the integration or social reintegration of vulnerable groups.
b) Facilitating the access of vulnerable groups to the support of the community and volunteers and promoting social inclusion and community diversity through intercultural exchanges and initiatives;
c) Overcoming traumas and social vulnerabilities and personal development through art therapy workshops and improving life skills and acquiring new educational skills to overcome social vulnerability through training activities, seminars, mentoring;

Our main activities:
Emergency Aid for refugees and asylum seekers
We offer, with the help of the community and volunteers, emergency material assistance for refugees, asylum seekers or third-country nationals from Timisoara trough Casa LOGS. We offer food vouchers, access to hygiene and clothing as well as providing medical assistance. We support the integration of refugees in Romania by providing information on their rights and obligations, Romanian language courses and accessing rights, both through individual and group meetings and through online communication channels.

We fight human trafficking
We are the main partners with the National Agency Against Human Trafficking - Timisoara Regional Center in carrying out campaigns to prevent human trafficking in the west of the country. We offer direct assistance to identified victims of human trafficking trough counseling and psychological therapy.

Education and Training
We organize training activities for vulnerable groups: victims of human trafficking, migrants and refugees, dependent minors, the unemployed or others. We manage 2 weekly educational clubs for children, involving local and international volunteers: Giarmata Kids Club - in a rural village near the city of Timisoara and Welcoming Kids Club - for refugee and migrant kids in Timisoara, Romania. We offer art therapy, recreational and educational activities for around 40 kids, aged 7 to 14.

Our target group:
Our main target group are immigrants settled or in transit in Romania: irregular immigrants, asylum seekers, persons with a form of protection and third country citizens that we assist with counseling and emergency food, clothes and medicine as well as community welcome building towards immigrants. We are working also with victims of human trafficking offering counselling, psychological support and emergency material assistance. Children at risk of school drop, from foster care or low income are also part of your constant educational activities, including migrants and refugee children.

LOGS Association - Group of Social Initiatives is a member of the Coalition for the Rights of Migrants and Refugees in Romania together with the main Romanian 22 NGOs active in the field of integration of refugees and migrants in our country and also a member of the national platform ProTECT - together with 15 of the most active organizations that fight against human trafficking in Romania.
