Located in the heart of the Alps, Annecy benefits from a geographical position enabling strong links with Europe and the world. The city's international action is part of 60 years old partnerships with 17 towns in 10 countries, particularly Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, Slovakia and the United Kingdom. In this framework, the population is fully involved through:
- School and association exchanges. The City supports these intercultural projects carried out by local actors;
- International stays for young minors and professional immersion programs for young adults;
- Professional good-practice sharing with partner cities;
- The organisation of regional, national and international main events.

Annecy’s participation in the European Solidarity Corps is consistent with its experience in mobilizing young people in the city project, but also in supporting the international youth mobility to facilitate their personal growth and their professional projects.
The priorities of the Erasmus program, namely inclusion, diversity, digital transformation, the environment, the fight against climate change and participation in democratic life are found in the pillars of the Annecy’s new municipality project since June 2020:
