Description of organisation

Semillistas is a non-profit working since 2018. Located in the mountainous rural area of Granada – Las Alpujarras. The
association's aim is eco-social regeneration.
Their objectives are:
EARTH CARE: to stop desertification and climate change through reforestation and regeneration of lands eroded by fires,
human action and climate change while using innovative techniques of direct sowing of native forest species.
PEOPLE CARE: holistic care and promotion of mental and physical health of the volunteers and the general population.
COMMUNITY CARE: promote a participatory, empowered, cohesive and resilient society that take care of their
environment.
RURAL DEVELOPMENT: sustainable development and repopulation of
rural villages, creation of new economies, heritage conservation, cultural visibilization, maintenance and care of the land.
BIOTECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN OPEN SOURCE
To achieve them we have 2 main projects, the Seed Laboratory and SiembraBosques.
SiembraBosques is the reforestation project of Sierra Lujar (Orgiva). Various activities are carried out here:
- Seeds harvesting Days
- Reforestation sowing days in Sierra Lujar
- Health care and community cohesion activities, such as:
yoga, stretching, qigong...,
Therapies offered to volunteers
Talks and workshops on topics related to the project: land regeneration, permaculture, collaborative project design, etc.
The project works mainly with volunteers, locally and from abroad. We try to involve vulnerable population

  • This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
