Description of organisation

Fondazione MAGIS (Movimento e Azione dei Gesuiti Italiani per lo Sviluppo) is a work of the Euro-Mediterranean Province of the Society of Jesus that coordinates and promotes missionary and international cooperation activities through the commitment and action of Jesuits and lay people in various parts of the world. Our mission is to promote social justice and sustainable development following the spirit and style of the Ignatian spirituality, to support the poor and the marginalized through accompaniment and educational activities, and practice solidarity through dialogue and advocacy. In collaboration with other national and international networks and institutions, we also support international development projects in 5 main fields: culture, peace, education, fundamental rights and health. Fondazione MAGIS is a non-governmental organisation (NGO). that supports and manages international cooperation programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America in partnership with local organizations. In Italy, Fondazione MAGIS outline informative and training activities for global citizenship education with schools, youth groups and parishes, and it organizes conferences, meetings, and other initiatives for the public in general.
