description of organisation

Our foundation was founded in 1988, operates in the whole country (with a head office in Budapest). It aims to help children with limb deficiency: to develop physically and mentally, to become healthy, happy, and confident adults. In the past 30 years we paid special attention to inform parents about medical attendance, legal help and difficulties that appear in everyday life. The foundation helps the healthy physical progress of the children mainly with physiotherapy and swimming lessons. Besides, its major goal is to affirm the solidarity in the community of the affected children and their parents. Traditionally we organize trips and camps - for families and for children - to create the occasion for community building. We welcome families, children and their siblings to our programs from all around the country. We organize art therapy camps for the children and a separate camp for the teenagers with the topic of career guidance and self-knowledge. In these camps we try to support the kids to find their best potentials and help them to discover their coping strategy in the world and meet new friends with the same issues.
The foundation gives courage to the children and we think that the confidence, they gain among people of similar difficulties, will help them to succeed in their own micro-communities. The first generation of the foundation’s „children” have grown up, has become the curators of the organization and help families raising simular children, as role models.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
