description of organisation

Szülők Háza (Parents’ House) is a cultural and mental health programme, which operates as a social enterprise and was launched by social policy expert and family counsellor Judit Regős in 2007. By now, it has become a complex family support system which helps families with different social backgrounds in the processes of family establishment, social integration and becoming “good parents” within 6 family centres and 20 family like nurseries and in the framework of a civil franchise, in Újbuda, Győr and Érd.

The Parents’ House Foundation was established by Dénes Kemény in 2015 so that the Foundation could represent the principles and aims of Parents’ House in an organised form in the future.

The Foundation provides support for children living in public care and disadvantaged families. In family support programs, disadvantaged families receive effective help through special skills development, sports, arts, and community events with the participation of families who live in favourable circumstances.

Within the frame of “Do Something Good!” program, children living in children's home receive regular attention and care through different, experience-based activities, with the involvement of volunteers and the professional support of the foundation.

The parent support methodology of Parents’ House was given the Best Practice award by the EU’s Eurofound Foundation in 2012, while the Washington-based World Bank included it in its best practices in 2014.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
