Apprentis d’Auteuil is a Catholic Foundation, which was founded in 1866, and is recognized since 1929 by the French State as a foundation of public utility, acting in close proximity to children, young people and their families in vulnerable situations in more than 240 services in France. The organisation operates in the fields of child protection, education, training and insertion and support of families in their parental role. Joie de Vivre school, one of the school of Apprentis d'Auteuil candidate to this labellisation, is located in Strasbourg. The school accompanies and supports about 215 children aged between 3 to 11 years old in Strasbourg (10 classes).Teachers use the Père Faure pedagogy, inspired by that of Maria Montessori. The Joie de Vivre school also receives children with disabilities, currently in two units for school inclusion. A personalised programme is set up for children taking into account their needs and those of their family, their personality and potential. The educational and pedagogical teams offers a comprehensive support in terms of education and schooling. The ambition of the school is to welcome everyone, to privilege and preserve a true diversity, to favour learning and the success of each pupil according to his or her own skills, to value the person and his or her talents. As mentionned above, the school encourages a true diversity. This is made possible thanks to the financial contribution of families proportionally to their income.
