Direction des Services Départementaux de l’Education Nationale (DSDEN) is a public body, deconcentrated service of the Ministry of National Education. The Academic Director of the National Education of Cher is in charge of implementing the educational policy of the Minister of National Education, from kindergarden to higher education.
DSDEN missions mainly concern :
- the establishment or withdrawal of primary school teaching positions in the department. The inspector of the academy has a particularly important role in preparing the start of the school year and defining the school network in the department
- the management of primary school teachers: appointment, promotion, retirement, etc.
- the operation, monitoring and evaluation of schools: the department is divided into three districts, where a national education inspector in charge of a primary school district monitors the schools.
- the pedagogical, administrative and financial supervision of colleges
- the study of measures to prepare for the beginning of the school year in middle schools: pedagogical structures and job locations.
- schooling and school life: school attendance, assignment after orientation, transplanted classes and school trips
school projects, educational and cultural activities
- the pedagogical supervision of high schools
- the execution of association contracts and the remuneration of teachers in private schools under contract.
