The Neighborhood Association of Meaus, is a neighborhood association located in the village of Meaus (former commercial capital of the disappeared Couto Mixto), located in the municipality of Baltar. It is a village at extreme risk of disappearance, with a current population of 30 inhabitants. Before the association was created, only 16 inhabitants lived in the village, which means an increase of 46% of the population, thanks to different collaborations, all in a period of 2 years. It is a non-profit association. The main objective of the association is to fight against the problem of depopulation that the village suffers. To reactivate local life, we will carry out a policy that allows the active participation of young people in the political, social, economic, cultural and environmental development of our town. We will encourage the participation of the neighbors so that they get involved in the creation of activities, initiatives and ideas that can help the development of the area. The objective is that the older people who live in the village feel supported and accompanied by the young people who come to the village.
