The University of Gdańsk (UG) is an institution founded in 1970 that provides high-quality education and advances knowledge through scientific research. UG aims to create a vibrant academic environment that fosters intellectual, cultural, and social competencies among its students and faculty members.Our mission is to provide high level of education, conduct highest quality research, shape civic attitudes, participate in social development and contribute to building innovation-based economy.We implement the idea of lifelong learning by encouraging active participation in academic life as part of the Open University. As a member of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU)-Erasmus+ project,we aim to establish a European campus, emphasizing the significance of developing European identity understanding, including promoting foreign language learning as an element of European identity and employability, showcasing international mobility experiences and encouraging extracurricular activities like international volunteering. These actions align with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 of ensuring access to quality education.UG, together with other SEA-EU universities, seeks to promote interculturality, solidarity, and European citizenship on its campuses, considering the inclusion of European volunteers as a means to strengthen European identity. This also aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 of promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
