MIL Y UN BOSQUES DE CÁRTAMA is a non-profit association based in Cártama, a village located in the Guadalhorce Valley, about 20km from Malaga.
The aim of the organisation is to contribute to the conservation of the flora and fauna of the area and its goal is to act as an educational platform and with reforestation and regenerative initiatives to teach sustainable practices to protect the local nature.
The main activities of the organisation include:
-Planting trees and nature protection activities, including the creation of a kitchen garden;
-Awareness-raising and education campaigns in defence of the environment;
-Development of environmental education, including trainings, information activities and school visits to our venue;
-Promotion of the volunteering especially in the environment field;
-Organisation of meetings, debates, cultural activities and other initiatives addressing our objectives;
-Art workshops;
-Competences development of people, including personal abilities and social skills, accompanying them in their individual itinerary, with a special focus on people at risk of exclusion;
-Organisation of charity events, concerts and exhibitions, in collaboration with a local ecolodge;
-Collaboration with other local NGOs in order to achieve the objectives of the organisation.
The main target group of MIL Y UN BOSQUES DE CÁRTAMA is the local population, especially those located in the areas of influence of the organisation.
- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
