Description of organisation

PONTEM – National Association for Social Pedagogy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a professional non-governmental organization dedicated to the development and promotion of social pedagogy as a field of expertise in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our mission is to support vulnerable groups, particularly children, youth, and marginalized communities, through innovative educational, psychosocial, and mentoring programs. Our main activities include: Educational programs and training for professionals in the field of social pedagogy, social work, and education, with a focus on capacity-building and lifelong learning; Mentoring and psychosocial support for children, adolescents, and young adults transitioning from institutional care to independent life; Community-based initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and inclusion through cultural, educational, and recreational activities; Advocacy and policy development for the recognition and integration of social pedagogy in the national legal and educational framework; Research and development of evidence-based approaches in social interventions, working closely with academic institutions and practitioners.
Our target groups include young people at risk, children and youth in alternative care, young adults transitioning from institutional settings, professionals in the fields of social work and education, and broader communities affected by social inequalities.
