TEMI Charitable Union is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 1989 in Gremi village, Kakheti, Georgia. Its mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and self-sufficient home for socially vulnerable individuals, creating opportunities for dignity, independence, and active participation in society.
TEMI supports people facing exclusion, including persons with disabilities, orphans, single mothers, internally displaced persons, and the elderly. By offering shelter, rehabilitation, education, healthcare, and employment, it fosters an environment of solidarity and mutual respect. Currently, 65 residents with disabilities, displaced persons, and socially excluded individuals are part of the in-house community.
The community operates on a self-sustaining model that integrates social enterprises such as organic farming, winemaking, handicrafts, and agro-tourism. These activities generate income for the organisation and create meaningful work opportunities for its members.
Alongside its economic initiatives, TEMI promotes cultural and social integration through music, arts, sports, and youth empowerment programmes reaching out to the local environment in Kakheti.
Through strong local and international partnerships, volunteer engagement, and continuous development projects, TEMI has become a thriving example of community-based inclusion and sustainability.
