Gemeinschaft Sulzbrunn e.G. is an Eco-village project in the south of Germany, founded in 2015 and now home to over fifty adults and eighteen children. Our vision is to create a sustainable, ecological and collaborative multi-generational community, where people and nature can thrive. Since 2015, we have been researching and testing out all aspects of community living.
We organise ourselves sociocratically, aiming to enable equal participation and effective cooperation by all, to create trust, transparency and security, and to promote the sharing of responsibility.
In our community-supported agriculture, we strive for a high degree of self-sufficiency. We own over 10 hectares of woodland and meadows, keep sheep, grow our own fruit and vegetables, and run an ecological Seminar business. We farm our land organically and practise regenerative agriculture that promotes soil fertility and biodiversity. We cultivate a conscious approach to food by feeding ourselves and our Seminar guests organic, regional, vegetarian/vegan food. We also produce our own heat and electricity from sustainable sources, and aim for maximum self-sufficiency in our energy supply.
Our target group is young people with an interest in learning about alternative ways of living and working in community, developing knowledge of sociocratic structures, supporting an ecological seminar house and/or our organic agriculture.
