Description of organisation

Actors for Initiatives and Development (ACTIVE) is a Tunisian non-profit, non-governmental organisation officially established in December 2024 and active since 2022. Founded by former Service Civique and European Solidarity Corps volunteers, ACTIVE works to empower young people skills, with particular attention to those facing social, economic, or geographical barriers. ACTIVE’s mission focuses on: Active citizenship and democracy: supporting youth leadership, civic engagement, and participation at local, national, and international levels. Digital transition: strengthening inclusive, responsible, and safe digital skills to enhance employability, creativity, and social innovation. Youth and community development: providing training, mentoring, and practical projects for young people, volunteers, and social workers. Ecology and sustainable development: promoting environmental awareness, eco-responsible behaviours, climate action, and community-based sustainability initiatives. Peace promotion and intercultural dialogue: fostering positive participation through youth exchanges, training cycles for adults and social workers, and strengthening the capacities of mobility project facilitators and animators to promote non-violence, dialogue, and social cohesion. Beyond Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, ACTIVE contributes to regional dialogue by fostering collaboration across North Africa and supporting stronger cooperation between the Maghreb and Europe through youth mobility.
