Description of organisation

Slavia is a long-standing, family-oriented sports club in Prague with a history of around 100 years. The club is built on inclusivity and community values. We aim to be open to everyone, with balanced participation of boys and girls, and involvement of all age groups and all backgrounds. We also support adapted sports, including programmes for players with intellectual disabilities. Beyond sport, Slavia places strong emphasis on community. We involve parents and organise social activities that strengthen the connection between families, athletes, and the wider club environment. We love hosting youth volunteers because we see real value in welcoming an international young and enthusiastic person. Someone from outside the Czech environment can bring fresh perspectives and inspire both staff and members, while also supporting our daily activities and helping us develop existing programmes. This is an important step for us in becoming more active in international cooperation. We strongly support the values of the European Solidarity Corps, especially learning through exchange and intercultural understanding. This is our first step in that direction, with the intention to build experience in hosting volunteers and later inspiring our members to go abroad as volunteers themselves. Overall, we see this as a natural extension of our club’s values: community, inclusion, and growth through shared experience.
