Description of organisation

The Italian Red Cross Calvisano Committee (CRI Calvisano) is part of the national humanitarian network of the Italian Red Cross, active throughout Italy. The organisation operates in accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and works to protect health, dignity and well-being, promoting solidarity, social inclusion and active participation within the local community. At local level, CRI Calvisano provides essential services responding to the needs of the population, with particular attention to people in vulnerable situations. The main activities include: - Emergency and urgent medical services (112), ensured daily by trained volunteers and staff; - Ordinary and secondary medical transport for elderly people, patients and persons with reduced mobility; - Civil protection activities, supporting the community in case of emergencies or extraordinary events; - Health prevention and education initiatives, with a strong focus on young people; - Educational activities for children and adolescents (8–13 years) and awareness campaigns on public health topics, such as the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. The main target groups are the local population, with special attention to elderly people, vulnerable individuals, young people and families. CRI Calvisano also promotes community involvement through public events, information activities and the promotion of volunteering.
