We are looking for 1 candidate only from EU countries motivated to support Special School Complex no 11. We have already chosen canidates from Turkey :) Volunteer work with disabled students, support them daily, have an impact on the students' feeling of being a full-fledged part of the community (via f.e. trips, walks, participating in concerts and other cultural events). There are already 6 volunteers who support Special School in the ESC project Mobility for Solidarity. We are still looking for one person who will assist in this amazing place.Thanks to the opportunity of working in a new, multicultural environment, volunteers gain a number of new competences such as team work skills, individual work, communicating in Polish language, English and other languages that they will be able to use during the project.
TranslateAccommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteer will receive food allowance & pocket money, will be accommodated in shared room (with access to kitchen and bathroom) with other EVS volunteers from our projects in Krakow. Volunteer will get monthly ticket for trams and buses in Krakow (including the workplace to the residence, the whole city, night buses). Travel costs from/to home countries will be reimburse to the limit according to Erasmus+ calculator.
TranslateTraining during the project
1) On-arrival training in Warsaw - Polish National Agency (6 days) 2) Mid- term training in Toruń (5 days) - Polish National Agency 3) Polish language course provided by Coordinating organisation. Course will be held by professional Polish as a foreign language teacher. Duration of the course depends on the length of the project. As a coordinating organization, we will provide other opportunities to practice Polish (tandem meetings etc.). 4) Additional workshops and meetings (individual and in group)
TranslateVolunteer profile
Experience in work with children and youth will be an additional asset, however it is not compulsory. Good communication skills are also and additional asset because the project is based on communication with other people. All creative skills - artistic or motor skills – can enrich the project. The same relates to computer skills. Volunteers should be open-minded and sensitive towards needs of others. Due to the nature of the target group and special focus on work with children/young adults, also with disabilities, volunteer should not be afraid of disabled people and their reactions.
