ECOCOMPATIMOS is an NGO which has a second-hand charity shop where different things are sold: books, toys, pictures, handmade products, etc where volunteers could do lot of activities:  Customer relation explaining how our shop works and giving dates.  Reception, classification and marked donated things  Give information about our projects  Organization of workshops or courses: crafts for children  Continue with English language courses for adults and kids  Participating in intercultural mornings  Presentations in schools and organizations  Creating promotional materials  Support events with practical help  Updating and organizing webpage  Dissemination of information and news in ECOCOMPARTIMOS social network  Propose new workshops for Moroccan women  Being like a bridge between Moroccan women and Ecocompartimos  Information and guidance to young people about EVS  Continue with Arabic language courses for Moroccan women and Spanish people

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will live in an apartment in Illescas (32Km far from Madrid or Toledo) with shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. Each volunteer has their own room. They are responsible for keeping the apartment clean and organized. Apartment is equipped with all things necessary for comfortable living and limited internet connection is available. They will receive 105€ pocket money and money for food every month. Cigna insurance is included. Volunteers will have a bike disponible.

Training during the project

Volunteers will receive a training from the organization when they arrive to learn how to do every task. They also will attend the on arrival training and the middle evaluation provided by the Spanish Nacional Agency.

Volunteer profile

Volunteer has to be sociable, adaptable and creative. She has to like kids because some of the activities will be related to them. Volunteer has to speak English and Arabic because some of the workshops we offer are in english or Arabic, but is not necessary she speaks Spanish. She has to be patient and likes to teach, most of Moroccan women don't know how to write and read in their own lenguage. Volunteer has to be very motivated for staying in a foreing country for 12 months and prepared for the cultural shock we will help her and we'll try to make things easier.

Additional information

Illescas is a village of 23,000 inhabitants. It is situated in region called Castilla La Mancha provence of Toledo. It has everything that is needed for comfortable living. There are many places where to buy food – several grocery stores, bakeries, market and others.
In Illescas there are several medical centers, dental care centers and pharmacies. There is a post office and different banks. There is a library and it is possible to visit the gym or swimming pool for a very reasonable price. There is Youth Center. Smaller villages around the Illescas are easily accessible by bike
