Have you ever wondered how the EU policies towards China have shifted in the past decades? China has indeed become an increasingly important actor for the EU. For example, it overtook the US and became the EU’s biggest trading partner. For these reasons, EU policy had to adapt to this fast-growing partnership and collaboration. EU-China relations will become increasingly relevant for all European citizens in the future. Curious to know more about this extremely important topic? Join ECA’s event on May 2nd at 16.30 on Zoom! We will have the honour to have a panel discussion with experts in the field. We will welcome Jan Rudolph, Consul-General in Guangzhou, Catherine Yuk Ping-Lo, researcher and professor at UM, and Janos Ammann, a journalist at Euractiv! The event will touch upon the Chinese road in Ukraine and an analysis of the possible future international outlook of China in the struggle and competition between Russia and the EU. Besides, we will explore the Belt and Road Initiative and which impact it had and will have on the EU. Moreover, the recent developments in Lithuania will be mentioned. Lastly, we will delve into the EU response to the Hong Kong and Taiwan issues and how this impacts EU-China relations. The event is open to everybody, so do not miss this opportunity!
